Who is SugarBear?

SugarBear, now trading as SugarbearPRO, is the home of the blue bear Hair Vitamin gummies, which the brand has sold since 2015. The range also includes Sleep and Prenatal vitamins, a LashCare serum and BrowCare.

Its customers are mostly women focused on hair growth and thickness, sleep, pregnancy nutrition, and lashes and brows. The brand positions itself as vegan certified, cruelty-free, OU Kosher and Halal, third-party lab tested, clinically studied and made in the USA, and it backs purchases with a guarantee. SugarBear is also sold in Target and Ulta.

The brand sells direct on Shopify, with autoship subscriptions.

What did the brand need?

A hair gummy brand selling a daily habit lives or dies on first-order conversion and on subscription. Results take consistent use, so the first order is where the relationship either starts or does not.

An iconic product brings its own challenge. Many visitors already know the blue bear from social media or a store shelf. They are not asking what it is; they are asking whether it will work for them and why they should buy direct. A page that re-explains the brand from scratch wastes that awareness. A page that answers the doubts of a shopper who is almost ready converts it.

Beauty gummies also sit in a crowded, claim-heavy category. Shoppers compare certifications, testing and guarantees side by side. For brands like SugarBear, the pages have to turn strong awareness into confident first orders, and the path from product page to checkout has to stay out of the buyer's way.

What is our method for a conversion lift of this size?

We find the leak first and change one thing at a time. A large conversion lift is almost never one clever change. It is the result of fixing the right steps in the right order. Here are the principles; the specific page and offer changes stay private.

Diagnose the funnel step by step

We split the funnel per landing page and per device, and measure each step against the one before it: cart rate, cart to checkout, checkout completion. We read one market at a time, and we exclude Meta review-crawler sessions on new pages, which inflate traffic and make a page look worse than it is.

Offer and checkout before design

In our audits the biggest leaks tend to sit at the offer and checkout level rather than in page layout. When two different page designs with the same offer convert at nearly the same rate, that is the signal to stop redesigning and look further down the path.

Media and CRO as one loop, shipped fast

Each landing page continues the ad angle that feeds it, and pages are scored on conversion rate and revenue per session next to ROAS on one shared scorecard. Variants go live quickly, we read results daily on comparable days, and tests are called only once the sample supports them. Our comparison of Intelligems vs Shoplift and how much traffic you need covers the testing side.

What was the result?

SugarBear's conversion rate increased by 495%. That is the figure shown on our homepage, and we publish no other numbers for this brand.

We know a figure like that invites questions, and it should. We walk through the full context on a call rather than on a public page. Book a free growth audit to see it.

What does this mean for a hair or beauty supplement brand?

If your product is well known but your direct store underconverts, the gap is usually on the page and in the path to checkout, not in awareness. Our guide on why your Shopify conversion rate suddenly dropped walks through a diagnosis you can run yourself, and our guide on conversion rate benchmarks for supplement stores helps you judge where you stand.

We will not promise you the same figure. Your starting point, traffic and offer are different. We promise the same method: an honest audit, one change at a time, and daily reads on comparable days.

Terms are scope-based and month to month, with no setup fee. See our services, browse all case studies, or book a free growth audit.

Sounds like your brand?

Succession Media works with Shopify DTC brands doing $50K to $1M a month. A call is worth it if:

  • Your beauty or hair supplement is widely recognized, but your direct store converts far below what that awareness suggests.
  • Your product works through daily use, so first-order conversion and subscription decide your economics.
  • You are also sold in retail, and your store does not give shoppers a clear reason to buy direct.
  • You have redesigned pages before and conversion barely moved.

FAQ

Can I see the full numbers?

Yes, on a call. The 495% conversion rate increase on our homepage is the only figure we publish for SugarBear. We walk through the context behind it live, within what we are able to share.

How can conversion rate rise that much?

Large lifts usually come from fixing the steps where most visitors were being lost, such as the offer, the path to checkout and the match between ad and page, rather than from design alone. We share the specific context for this figure on a call.

What do you work on first?

The funnel diagnosis. We split it by page and device, measure each step against the one before it, and look at checkout and offer before touching layout.
