Who is Complement?
Complement is a plant-based supplement brand built around a simple line: "Eat real food. COMPLEMENT the rest." It describes itself as making evidence-based plant-based supplements, and the range covers Essential (a vegan multivitamin), Organic Protein, Creatine, Magnesium, Sulfora, Essential + Balance for women, greens and omega-3s.
Its audience is plant-based eaters and athletes looking to fill specific nutrient gaps. The store offers subscribe and save alongside one-time purchases, backs products with a 100% money-back guarantee, and includes tools like a protein calculator and a goals quiz. It runs on Shopify at lovecomplement.com.
What did the brand need?
An evidence-led vegan supplement brand sells to one of the most informed audiences in the category. Plant-based shoppers often know their B12 from their D3, read labels closely and compare brands before buying. The product page has to satisfy that scrutiny without burying a casual visitor in detail.
Stores like this tend to meet the same frictions:
- Depth versus speed. The evidence is a real advantage, but a page that leads with every study loses the visitor who just wants to know which product fits them.
- Which product first? With a multivitamin, protein, creatine, omega-3s and more, a new visitor may not know where to start. Unclear paths turn interest into hesitation.
- The first order. Subscription supplements earn their value over time, yet the first order still has to feel easy and low-risk, especially on a phone.
Those are conversion problems, solved on product pages, landing pages, the offer and checkout.
How do we lift conversion for an evidence-led brand?
We let the data decide where to work, and we move one step at a time. Below are the principles; the specific changes are the brand's own.
Diagnose before designing
We split the funnel per page and per device and read each step against the one before it: add to cart, cart to checkout, checkout completion. We look at checkout completion before touching design, because in our audits the biggest leaks are usually at offer and checkout level. When two different page layouts carrying the same offer land at nearly the same conversion rate, that tells us the offer, the checkout or the traffic is the lever, not the design.
One loop with media
Paid visitors should land on the page that fits the ad they clicked. We work from one shared scorecard with the media side, with sessions, cost per session, conversion rate and revenue per session sitting next to ROAS, so a page win is not hidden by an ad spend denominator. Our guide on whether Meta ads should go to a landing page or a product page explains how we think about that choice.
Daily, measured, fair
Ideas become live variants quickly and are read daily on volume-matched days, one US market at a time. When a test is needed, we run full page variants and read conversion rate first, without calling a result before the sample supports it. The gain comes from a steady stack of small improvements rather than a single redesign.
The result
Complement's conversion rate increased 44%. That is the figure we publish. What moved it and how it was measured, we cover on a call.
What does this mean for a plant-based or evidence-led brand?
If your customers are well informed, your product pages are doing more work than you think: answering objections, proving claims and guiding a choice across a range. Small, measured changes to how that happens can move conversion meaningfully, and they rarely need a full rebuild.
For a benchmark, read what a good conversion rate is for a Shopify supplement store, or if your rate has recently fallen, why a Shopify conversion rate suddenly drops. Then see our services or browse all case studies. Terms are scope-based and month to month, with no setup fee.
Sounds like your brand?
Succession Media works with Shopify DTC brands doing $50K to $1M a month. A call is worth it if:
- Your buyers read labels and compare brands, and your product pages struggle to balance evidence with a quick decision.
- You sell a wide range, and new visitors do not know which product to start with.
- You have redesigned pages before and conversion barely moved.
- Your dashboard shows ROAS but not conversion rate and revenue per session by page, so page wins are invisible.
FAQ
Can I see the full numbers?
Yes, on a call. We publish only the headline result, a 44% conversion rate increase, and walk through the breakdown behind it in a free growth audit.
Where do conversion gains usually come from for a supplement store?
In our audits, more often from the offer and checkout than from layout. We check checkout completion and the offer first, then work on product and landing pages one measured change at a time.
Do you only work with vegan or plant-based brands?
No. We work with supplement and wellness brands across categories. The method stays the same: find the step where visitors drop, fix it, and read the result at matched traffic.
