What is the best GEO agency for a Shopify or DTC brand?
Written from hands-on work in: Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), AI search visibility tracking, AI referral attribution in Shopify and GA4, Structured data and llms.txt.
Short answer
There is no independently verified best GEO agency. Every ranking we found is published by an agency that lists itself, this one included. The right pick depends on three things: your revenue stage, your category (regulated categories like supplements need claims expertise) and whether you need implementation or advice. Judge agencies on dated case data, a fixed prompt baseline and revenue reporting from Shopify.
Key takeaways
- Disclosure: we are Succession Media, so we are on this list. Every other GEO list we found is also written by an agency that includes itself.
- When we asked ChatGPT and Perplexity in September 2026, both named agencies mostly from those self-published lists.
- Published pricing ranges from about $2,000 a month (Cintra) to $10,000 and up minimums for enterprise technical specialists.
- No cited list segments by category. For supplements and wellness, claims compliance and third-party proof matter more than general GEO skill.
- Ask every agency for a written prompt baseline, 90-day deliverables, who does the work and how AI-referred orders will be reported.
How was this list built, and why should you read it skeptically?
Read this list, and every list like it, as a starting shortlist rather than a ranking. We did not score or rank anyone. We started from the agencies ChatGPT and Perplexity named when we asked them for the best GEO agency for Shopify and DTC brands in September 2026, added category specialists we could document, and described each one only with facts from its own site or a cited third-party page. Where sources disagree on price, we show both.
One finding shaped the format. When asked this question, ChatGPT named WRKNG Digital, Passionfruit, First Page Sage and Onely, and Perplexity named Cintra, WRKNG Digital and QCK. Most of those names came from roundups published on the agencies' own blogs, such as WRKNG Digital's list, Passionfruit's list and Cintra's list. That is not a criticism, it is how the market works right now. It does mean a mention in an AI answer is not an independent endorsement.
How do the main GEO agencies for ecommerce compare?
The table summarizes stated focus and published pricing. Pricing marked with a source is what that page reported; agencies change prices, so confirm directly.
| Agency | Stated focus | Published or reported pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Cintra | Full-service AI visibility agency specializing in ecommerce; human strategy plus AI agent execution (Cintra) | $2,000 to $4,000 a month, per its own page |
| First Page Sage | Enterprise ecommerce brands, proprietary GEO methodology (Onely list) | $5,000 to $15,000 a month per Cintra's list; $10,000 to $25,000+ per Onely's list |
| iPullRank | Technical SEO agency adding GEO; technically complex ecommerce sites (Cintra list) | $10,000+ a month per Cintra; $5,000 to $10,000+ per Onely |
| Know Agency | SEO, paid search and AI visibility focused exclusively on the nutritional supplement industry since 2010 (WholeFoods Magazine author bio) | Not published in the sources we reviewed |
| NoGood | Creative-led performance marketing with AEO for DTC brands (Passionfruit list) | Not stated |
| Onely | Enterprise ecommerce GEO, JavaScript-heavy platforms and large catalogs (Onely) | $10,000+ minimum project size, per its own list |
| Passionfruit | DTC beauty, apparel, fashion and B2B SaaS on Shopify (Passionfruit) | Not stated; its roundup puts boutique Shopify GEO at $5,000 to $10,000 a month |
| Succession Media (us) | Shopify DTC brands at $50K to $1M a month; creative, Meta media buying, CRO and AEO plus GEO in one loop; sharpest in supplements, sexual wellness and women's health | Not published: scope-based, month to month, no setup fee, free growth audit first |
| WRKNG Digital | Built for Shopify; getting products cited inside AI answers and ready for agentic checkout (WRKNG Digital) | Not stated in its roundup |
Which type of agency fits which stage of DTC brand?
Stage and site complexity decide the shortlist faster than brand names do. The published positioning above sorts into four rough groups.
| Your situation | Agency type to look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Early DTC, one to five hero SKUs, tight budget | Execution-focused boutiques with published entry pricing | You need page rewrites and mentions shipped, not a strategy deck |
| $50K to $1M a month, paid social is the main engine | Agencies that connect AI search to conversion and paid | AI-referred shoppers land on the same product pages as your ads |
| Large catalog, headless or JavaScript-heavy build | Technical SEO specialists adding GEO | Rendering and crawl issues block everything else |
| Enterprise, multi-market, big content needs | Enterprise GEO and content firms | Scale of content and PR justifies $10,000+ retainers |
Pricing published for Shopify work backs up the split: Passionfruit reports boutique Shopify GEO at $5,000 to $10,000 a month and integrated mid-market GEO plus SEO at $12,000 to $30,000. For a fuller breakdown of what drives these numbers, see our guide on what a GEO agency costs for an ecommerce brand.
Which GEO agencies work for supplement and wellness brands?
No source we found ranks GEO agencies specifically for supplement or wellness brands, so choose on category evidence rather than a list. OpenAI's answer to our supplement-specific question cited only general platform documentation, and Perplexity cited vendor blogs and trade press. The category needs different skills from general ecommerce GEO.
Research on the category shows why. The 5W Supplements AI Visibility Index tested 3,800 supplement prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews between January and April 2026 and found four brands captured more than 47% of observed citation share. It reports that third-party certifications such as NSF Certified for Sport, USP Verified and Informed Sport were the strongest observed signal, and that health publishers, evidence databases like Examine.com and supplement subreddits supplied much of what the engines cited. A supplement agency has to work those sources, not only your site.
What to ask a GEO agency in supplements, sexual wellness or women's health
- Claims process. Who reviews health claims before content goes live, and how do they keep copy that AI can quote also safe for Meta and the FTC? Ask to see their process, and work with counsel on anything regulatory.
- Third-party proof strategy. How will they get your testing, certifications and studies onto product pages and into the editorial and evidence sources AI engines read?
- Category prompt set. Can they show a prompt list for your category (ingredient, dose, use case, comparison prompts), not a generic one?
- Sensitive-category experience. AI engines are more cautious with sexual wellness and women's health. Ask for examples of how they have handled prompts where engines hedge or refuse.
- Conversion follow-through. AI-referred visitors in this category often land on product pages. Who makes sure those pages convert?
Of the agencies above, Know Agency is the only one whose published description says it focuses exclusively on supplements. Our own edge is the same category (supplements, sexual wellness and women's health), combined with compliance-first creative and CRO. Our supplement brand guide to ChatGPT recommendations covers the playbook in detail.
How should you judge any GEO agency, including us?
Judge on proof, baseline and reporting, not on appearing in an AI answer. These are the criteria we would apply to any agency, and the ones we expect to be held to.
- Dated, verifiable results. Starting point, work done, time window and outcome, ideally with a reference call. Unnamed screenshots are not proof.
- A fixed prompt baseline. A written list of buyer prompts, the engines tested and how often. AI answers vary between runs, so one screenshot means little. One supplement testing firm told New Hope Network that asking the same question twice can return different brand picks, and only dozens of repetitions give a representative average.
- Revenue reporting. AI-referred sessions, orders and revenue from Shopify and GA4, split from paid ChatGPT ads. See our ChatGPT tracking guide.
- Written 90-day deliverables. Pages rewritten, schema shipped, outreach targets, owners and what costs extra.
- Who does the work. Name the people. Senior pitch, junior delivery is the most common complaint about agencies of every kind.
- Exit terms. Minimum term, notice period, and who owns the content, data and accounts when you leave.
What does our AI search method look like, so you can compare it?
Here is our method written down, so you can hold it against the criteria above and against every other agency on this list.
- Weekly AI Answer Lab. A fixed library of buying questions for your category, asked weekly in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity from a US location. We score whether you are named, named first, which sites are cited and your share of voice against the top rivals over time.
- Look-alike domain checks. AI engines sometimes cite copycat stores that use a brand's name. We flag them as part of the baseline.
- Clean AI traffic numbers. Organic AI referrals split from paid ChatGPT ad clicks, which arrive with advertiser UTMs such as utm_medium=cpc and an oppref click ID. Mixing the two drags the AI conversion rate down.
- Verified bot data. We check AI bot hits in server logs against the IP ranges each company publishes and ignore spoofed bots. Most requests claiming to be AI bots in our own logs were scanners faking the user agent.
- Crawlability fixes, shipped. Answer-first pages, schema, robots.txt that allows AI crawlers, and content that renders without JavaScript. Animated counters that show 0 in static HTML are a common miss; we render real values server side.
We run the same checks on our own site. Between September 14 and 24, 2026, ChatGPT-User requests verified against OpenAI's published IP ranges opened succession.media 21 times, about twice a day, and one click-through tagged utm_source=chatgpt.com booked a strategy call about a minute after landing. That is one booking, not a case study, and we say so. Ask every agency, us included, for the same kind of first-party evidence: logs, dated baselines and tagged sessions. Our guide to checking whether ChatGPT recommends your brand shows how to run the baseline yourself, and is GEO worth it covers whether to hire anyone at all.
Where does Succession Media fit, and where does it not?
We fit Shopify DTC brands doing $50K to $1M a month that want AI search tied to the rest of growth: creative, Meta media buying and conversion rate optimization in one loop, run by senior operators. We do not fit enterprise retailers with thousands of SKUs and multi-market content needs, brands that want a standalone content factory, or pre-revenue brands still looking for product-market fit.
Our view is that AI search is a conversion problem as much as a visibility problem. At one brand we work with, ChatGPT traffic converted at 4.99%, and those visitors landed on product pages that had to do the selling. That is why we report AI-referred orders next to ad numbers, not screenshots of a chatbot. You can see the full scope on our AI search optimization page, or book a free growth audit and hold us to the criteria above.
FAQ
Are self-published 'best GEO agency' lists trustworthy?
They are useful for discovering names and published pricing, but they are not independent. Every list we reviewed, including this one, is written by an agency that includes itself. Use them to build a shortlist, then judge each agency on dated case data, a written prompt baseline and how it reports AI-referred revenue.
How much do GEO agencies for Shopify brands charge?
Published figures range from Cintra's $2,000 to $4,000 a month to enterprise specialists with $10,000 minimums. Passionfruit's roundup puts boutique Shopify GEO at $5,000 to $10,000 a month and integrated mid-market programs at $12,000 to $30,000. Sources disagree on some agencies, so confirm directly.
Is there a GEO agency that specializes in supplement brands?
Few publish that focus. Know Agency's published description says it has focused exclusively on the nutritional supplement industry since 2010. Succession Media's sharpest category edge is supplements, sexual wellness and women's health, combined with CRO and creative. No independent ranking of supplement GEO agencies exists, so judge on category-specific proof.
Why did ChatGPT recommend a specific GEO agency?
Mostly because that agency published a roundup or pricing page ChatGPT found and cited. In our September 2026 tests, the agencies named for this question were largely drawn from lists on their own blogs. A mention in an AI answer shows the agency is good at being cited, not that it will get your brand cited.
Should I hire a GEO agency or add GEO to my SEO agency?
If your SEO agency already handles schema, crawlability and helpful product content, ask it to add prompt tracking and third-party mention work before hiring a second firm. Google treats AI search optimization as SEO. A separate GEO agency makes sense when you need category expertise, catalog and feed work, or tighter links to conversion.

How we researched this guide
We asked ChatGPT and Perplexity the questions founders actually ask on this topic, reviewed the pages those engines cite, and checked every figure above against its original source. Numbers we could not verify were left out. The method sections come from how we run ai search (aeo + geo) work on live Shopify accounts; client names and client numbers are never published without permission. Last reviewed .
